Create a VFW  User Account

You can renew your dues online and manage your VFW Membership by creating a user account at http://www.vfw.org/.  Simply click on the icon titled ' 'create a VFW account'  in the menu above.  You can access your  membership record at any time; request a new or replacement membership card; update your contact information to include  your name, address, e-mail, and phone number; or become a Life Member or Legacy Life Member.

 

 

 

HERE IS WHAT'S HAPPENING AT THE POST:

attention: 

there have been issues the past few months with members not receiving their emailed Newsletters.  Upon further investigation, we have been told the servers at Cox Communications BUSINESS EMAIL have been flooded with thousands of SPAM emails and virtually disabled.  Cox is unable to fix the problem.  What they are actively doing is installing new servers and moving business  customers to them.  We are scheduled to be moved as soon as possible.  Also, we are applying for BULK email capacity for the Post so the new servers can better handle what we send out.  Please be patient.  Yes, it took a long time to determine what was wrong and WHERE it was wrong, but we are confident it will be reconciled very soon.  Remember, if you are on email, you can also look at the monthly newsletter and archieved newsletters on our website, www.vfwpost2503.org .  It usually is loaded after the emails are sent out.  Let Mike Rosso know if you have any questions or concerns.

By now the Building Fund Letters have arrived at your home addresses.  Please consider a donation for the building fund to take care of some things in this aging building.  It's always better to have a little on hand for emergencies rather than scramble when funds are low.  We appreciate your help more than you know.  You may either mail the donations back in the envelopes required or drop it in the box at the Post on the south end of the bar in the canteen.  Drawing to be held on St. Patrick's Day for $200, $100, or $50.

Sunday, March 3, 2019 is the annual Chili Feed for the OCCP (Omaha Coalition of Citizens Patrol).

OCCP is comprised of trained volunteers that help serve more than 35 Omaha neighborhoods.  Their work increases public safety by helping to reduce crime by their presence.

St. Patrick's Day falls on Sunday this year.  We will again be hosting our annual St. Patrick's Day meal, Corned Beef, Cabbage, Carrots, Bread, and all the trimmings. NOON to SIX.   The Auxiliary will provide desserts for sale by the piece and by the slice.  Contact Nora for drop-off times for donations.  Thank you.

Some time ago four cemetary plots were gifted to the Post.  They are located in the Garden of Crestview section of Westlawn-Hillcrest Cemetary at 57th and Center Streets.  The value of the plots is currently $3200 each.  The Post is willing to consider any offer of $700 each in case a member or member family is interested in the purchase.  Thank you.

Greetings and welcome to our website. We welcome your feedback.  You may leave your comments in the 'guest book' located at the bottom of each page or contact a Post Officer via the Contact and Information Page.  Please enjoy the site as it conveys to you who we are, what we do, and  how we contribute to our community.

To members and non-members alike, I extend my hand in friendship and  invite you to join us as we make a difference in supporting veterans and contributing to our community.  We have ample opportunity within the Post to use your talents to support a wide array of volunteer efforts.  Your active involvement in the VFW and Post 2503  is needed to ensure that the contributions to veterans , our  community, and the long history and traditions of the Veterans of Foreign Wars continue without interruption.    

Within our Post, volunteers are the heart of the Post and without them we have an empty building. Without people to volunteer, we cannot survive as a Post. Without volunteers, we cannot provide service to veterans and their families.   Many volunteers have given decades of their lives to the Veterans of Foreign Wars, to Post 2503 and to their communities . Please congratulate each volunteer for their contributions.  If you have not volunteered or can increase the amount of time you can give, please consider doing so.   We cannot survive without you.

Missing In America Project" documentary is dedicated to the MIAP.  The purpose of the MIA Project is to locate, identify and inter the unclaimed cremated remains of American veterans through the joint efforts of private, state and federal organizations. To provide honor and respect to those who have served this country by securing a final resting place for these forgotten heroes.
