July 16, 2021 – Join us as we welcome Rick Tiger to the Benson VFW Post 2503. He will be sharing his songs, stories, and tales with us.

Moving Veterans Forward Collections for July 28, 2021 – August 31, 2021

Veterans and children may meet in neutral, homelike space at MVF. Ron Hernandez is requesting frozen foods/staples for the Foxhole. Now collecting french fries, chicken nuggets, any fun snacks for the families to share while they visit. Let’s help them out with comfort foods.

If you would prefer to donate a gift card, check, or cash, let Dan or Kathy Raabe know. We will purchase groceries, frozen foods, snacks, and fun stuff for Foster Visits at MVF. We will deliver to them as well and post photos. Thank you. Questions? Call us!

August 1, 2021 - Honor Guard Car Show - All Proceeds Benefitting 50 Mile Ruck from Lincoln to Omaha, Guitars for Vets and Moving Veterans Forward @ VFW Post 2503

Once again, our Honor Guard hosts a Show and Shine Car Show to recruit new members AND to raise money for a local organization. A 50 Mile Ruck from Lincoln to Omaha will be held August 21 & 22. Participants will sleep on steps of Capital Building in Lincoln.  Saturday evening, they will walk 50 miles from Lincoln to Omaha. Proceeds from all activities will be shared by Moving Veterans Forward and Guitars for Vets Omaha. VFW Post 2503 is happy to be a sponsor of both groups and their work with Veterans who are homeless or suffering from PTSD. Help us to help them.

Awesome Silent Auction items for your bidding this Sunday, August 1. Something for everyone!

  • Rick Tiger’s new CD, Shine ON. Rick sang here at the Post on July 16. Recreate this memory with his new CD; Also some items from REDLINE STEEL. A Tree of Life, and a “Home” sign are part of this donation. Redline Steel sells on Facebook and is a Veteran owned and operated company. Check them out!
  • A bottle of Authentic Soldier Valley Lee Greenwood Bourbon Whiskey, distilled right here in Nebraska. Also includes a limited edition Challenge Coin.
  • Two separate baskets from our neighbors, Great Clips.  They donated and display our flyer prior to the event.
  • Three separate Afghans, crocheted by an anonymous donor. Lots of love is in each stitch, it’ll keep you warm in December!
  • A Game Night package from the Raabe’s and the McQuilliam’s. Snacks and your choice of still-sealed collector editions of  NASCAR Monopoly; 75th edition Monopoly; and Clue. Cribbage and Dominoes complete the package. Go old school with the kids or grandkids tonight!
  • Back to School Basket. WOW! This is awesome! Acer Laptop, school supplies, and paper donated by Mary Quilliam. What a great thing to win for bidding just before school starts!
  • Patriotic Pillow and tote bag. You never have enough of either of these. It goes to a great cause! Thank you.
